NEWS DIGEST – Two men, who allegedly robbed a man of his Apple watch worth N240,000 and a cash sum of N60,000,
are to cool their heels in Kirikiri Prison in the next two weeks, an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court ruled on Friday.

The Magistrate, Mrs M. I. Dan-Oni, ordered that the accused should be kept behind bars pending advice from the Lagos State Director
of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

She directed that the case file should be sent to the DPP.

The accused —Michael Archibong, 22, and Kelechi Uba, 30 — are being tried for conspiracy and robbery.

Earlier, Police Prosecutor Victor Eruada told the court that the duo committed the offences on Oct. 26 at Ilaoregun Street,
Ijegun Satellite area of Lagos.

Eruada said the accused, armed with a gun-like carved wood in form of a gun and other offensive weapons, robbed the complainant,
Mr Samson Mohammed, of his Apple watch valued at N240,000 and N40,000.

“Mohammed who was on his way to deliver the watch to a customer when he was attacked.

“The accused used a carved wood in form of a gun and other weapons to attack him before dispossessing him of his
property,” he said.

The offences contravened Sections 297 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).

The case has been adjourned until Jan. 16. (NAN)
