Olu Falae, a former Minister of Finance knocked the agitation that the presidency should be zoned to a particular region.

He said, “there is no provision for zoning in the Nigerian Constitution.”

In 2019, he resigned from partial politics and promised never to rejoin such.

“l will never come back to partisan politics. l have paid my dues but I will continue to support you.”

He also noted that whatever he and other party faithful can do to restore sanity to SDP, they will do it so that we can attain the heights we were.

He noted that zoning presidency was never a condition for Nigeria’s presidency post.

“There is no provision for zoning in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Zoning is not of the conditions for Nigeria’s presidency.

“If all aspirants accept it and they did not challenge it, it stands, but if a single aspirant challenges it, the Nigerian Constitution will override what is in the party constitution.”

He advised politicians to stop misleading Nigerians by settling zoning in their party constitution, while it is not recognised in the. Nigerian Constitution.
