TRENDING PHOTO: I haven’t seen Yaman for over two years- Saliu Mustapha
NEWS DIGEST – The Senator-elect for Kwara central senatorial district, Mallam Saliu Mustapha has dismissed the rumour of endorsing the gubernatorial candidate of PDP in Kwara State.
Speaking to the Informant247 after casting his vote on Saturday at his polling unit Gambari Ward 1, the Turaki of Ilorin described a picture of him and PDP’s guber candidate, Yaman Abdullahi circulating on social media as a ‘cheap blackmail’.
“That’s an old picture. I have not seen the PDP candidate for the past 2 and half years,” he said.
However, a statement by the Director of Research & Strategies, Saliu Mustapha Campaign Organization (SAMCO), Alabi Abdulkarim, ESQ, reads:
“Please ignore and disregard the brainless insinuation that the Turaki, Mallam Saliu Mustapha and Alhaji Shuaib Yahman ever met privately or publicly or agreed to any political pact in recent times.
“The photo being mischievously circulated by opposition elements was taken shortly after the 2019 Otoge victory.
“The PDP desperately needs an emergency Messiah to rescue them from drowning, and they could not find any in their own party but in the APC that’s giving them ‘wotowoto’ left, right and centre.
“The only reason the PDP would go and unearth an old photo and give it a different life and meaning on an election day that is as good as won is because they are desperate for a last straw to hold on to as they drown.”
