Eid-El-Fitr: Nasarawa donates 29 cows to public boarding schools
NEWS DIGEST -The Nasarawa State Government on Thursday in Lafia donated 29 cows worth about N3 million to public secondary boarding schools in the state.
Aliyu Tijjani, Nasarawa State Commissioner for Education, while handing over the cows to the principals of the benefiting schools, said the gesture was to enable the students celebrate Sallah happily even though they were away from their parents.
The commissioner warned principals of the benefiting schools against diverting the cows, adding “anyone caught would be sanctioned’’.
According to him, the state government will continue to do everything possible to improve the welfare of both students and staff.
Responding on behalf of other principals, Ibrahim Orume, the principal of Government Science School, Lafia, thanked the government for the gesture and promised that the cows would be prepared for the students.
