NEWS DIGEST – A 35-year old security guard ,Saheed Oyedele, accussed of breaking into his employer’s shop and stealing jeans shirts, polo shirts and belts valued at N2.5 million, on Tuesday appeared in an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court.
Oyedele, is charged with three counts of conspiracy, burglary and stealing, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor, Insp.Adejoke Adebari told the court that the defendant conspired with others at large, to commit the offence on Feb.25 2019 at about 3 p.m. at Princewell Boutique, in Imo area of Abeokuta.
Adebari alleged that Oyedele with his accomplices broke into the boutique/shop of the complainant, Mr Adindu Princewell while he was on guard duty.
Adebari said the offece contravened the provisions of sections 390(9), 413(1) (2) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun 2006.
Magistrate Sam Obaleye, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Obaleye ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, and show evidence of tax payment to the Ogun government and be gainfully employed.
She, however, adjourned the case until March 8 for trial. (NAN)
