Saraki Presiding over plenary at Senate as Kwankwaso decamps from APC
NEWS DIGEST – Senate President Bukola Saraki has arrived Senate Chamber as senator representing Kano central, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso decamps to PDP.
It was reported that the Senate President entered the chamber by 10:40 am and is currently presiding over plenary.
Saraki’s arrival at the Senate Chambers comes after security operatives laid siege to his residence on Tuesday morning.
His convoy was reportedly blocked by security operatives hindering him from leaving his residence. The Senate President was on his way to report at the Police Headquarters when his convoy was allegedly blocked by the police.
It however not clear how the Senate President manoeuvred his way out, of his residence despite the siege laid to his house by security operatives.
Meanwhile, sixteen Senators announced their defection from the All Progressive Congress [APC] to the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP]. The senators include – Kwankwaso, Melaye, Tejuosho, Gemade, Lafiagi and 12 others.
