Petrol queues in Abuja: No need for panic buying, says NNPC
NEWS DIGEST – As Petrol queues continue to grow in some parts of Abuja, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has disclosed that it had enough product that would last the country for about 60 days.
Reacting to the queues on Tuesday morning, the NNPC said in a tweet that there was no need for panic.
The tweet reads, “There is no need for panic-buying, rest assured that the NNPC has over two billion litres of Premium Motor Spirit in stock to guarantee steady supply and at least 60-day-product supply sufficiency.”
The News Digest observed that while some filling stations were not dispensing as of Tuesday morning, a few others dispensing were besieged by motorists causing gridlock in areas that are affected.
