Ondo: Alex Ajipe rejects APC primary result, seeks party’s restitution

NEWS DIGEST – One of the senatorial aspirants under the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ondo North, Alex Ajipe has opposed the primary election result and success of Jide Ipinsagba as the candidate to represent the party in 2023.

Last week, the election had Ipinsagba scored 268 votes while Ajipe had 57 votes.

He, however, announced his willingness to go before the party’s appeal tribunal to seek restitution.

Ajipe condemned the method embarked on to make Ipinsagba win the election.

He also noted that delegates were doctored so they can vote against him.

According to him, fake market ladies and traders were presented as delegates.

While speaking to newsmen in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, Ajipe said the election is the opposite of what an ordinary primary election should be.

Ajipe further said that the primary election was full of irregularities and malpractice.

However, he implored the party to discard the election and conduct a fresh one in the best interests of all aspirants.
