NPHCDA boss lauds Government of Italy over vaccine donation
NEWS DIGEST – The Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, Dr Faisal Shuaib, has applauded the Government and people of Italy over vaccine donation totalling 3,002,400 doses of Johnson and Johnson vaccine in a bid to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
Dr Shuaib disclosed this while speaking at the handover ceremony in Abuja today.
He says, “Today, we took delivery of 3,002,400 doses of the Johnson and Johnson brand of the COVID-19 vaccines, a generous donation from the Government of Italy.
“I want to appreciate the Government of Italy for these donations which are in line with the global call for equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines. It is also a reflection of the sincerity and commitment of the Government of Italy and European delegates to the global efforts in halting this pandemic for nations of the world to return to their normal way of life.”
Speaking at the event, the President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Prof. Cyril Usifoh alongside the delegates of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria has stated that NPHCDA is breaking new frontiers
Noting that the collaboration would facilitate people walking into the community Pharmacy and getting vaccinated assured.
Similarly, Prof. Usifoh stresses working collectively to bring all stakeholders on board to better deepen collaboration and consider the role of Community Pharmacists in Nigeria.
