Nollywood veteran actress, Orisabunmi is dead
NEWS DIGEST – Popular Yoruba actress, Folake Aremu, popularly known as Orisabunmi, is dead. The Kwara born died at the age of 60.
A senior member of TAMPAN, Tunde Ola-Yusuff, expressed grief in a Facebook post Wednesday morning.
“She left without a goodbye. The sudden death of Mrs Folake Aremu (Orisabunmi) has been announced.
“Really a shock on everyone. Iya Oosa, may God rest your soul among the righteous,” he wrote.
In the 80s, she was well known for her roles as a priestess in movies. She has played some iconic roles like ‘Asabi’ in “Oluwerimagboojo”, and the priestess in “Ayanmo Eda”.
Orisabunmi died four months after her ex-husband, Jimoh Aliu, aka Aworo passed on. They separated two decades ago.
In her interview, Orisabunmi said Aworo played more of the role of a father than a husband in her life. She further stated that Aworo contributed a lot to her acting career.
