Nigerians blow hot, call on EFCC to quiz Oba of Lagos over missing $2m comment

NEWS DIGEST – Just after revealing that $2m was stolen during his palace invasion by EndSars protesters on October 21, 2020, Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu is under fire on social media.

Oba Akiolu’s comment has been met with serious criticism on social media as Nigerians kept asking how he got such a huge amount of money that he kept in his palace.

A twitter handle @ayemojubar said: “Where did a king get $2m and N17m? How about the money-filled casket? EFCC your attention is needed”.

Another said: “@officialEFCC how much is the Oba of Lagos and his chiefs worth if sold in the black market? For him to be claiming to have lost $2m to a protest.

“More so, it wasn’t the #EndSARs protesters that invaded his palace, it was his own people, cos he’s been a BAD KING!!!.” He added.
