VIDEO: Offa residents stage protest, ask IGP Idris not to politicize robbery
NEWS DIGEST – Residents of Offa in Kwara state have thrown their weight behind Senate President, Bukola Saraki as they called on the Federal Government, Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris not to politicize the robbery incident.
The protesters who had placards bearing inscriptions in support of the Senate President kept chanting ‘Sai Saraki’ in a video obtained by THE NEWS DIGEST.
Meanwhile, Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode has also thrown his weight behind embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki stating that he (Saraki) is not an armed Robber.
Fani Kayode who said this through his official twitter handle @realFFK said: “I have known @bukolasaraki for 40 years and our family were close, I may not agree with him on his choice of political party and many other things but one thing I can say is he is not an Armed Robber and he is not a sponsorer of armed robbers and murderers”.
It would be recalled that the Nigerian Police has invited Mr. Saraki in the ongoing investigation regarding the robbery incident.
Saraki has denied any involvement in the crime stating that the police is only out to embarrass him.
