NotTooYoungToRun: Nigerians react to new law
NEWS DIGEST – A lot of Nigerians have taken to Social Media to express their joy at the signing of the Not Too Young To Run Bill into Law by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The NEWS DIGEST recalls that the bill was signed into Law today by President Buhari after the National Assembly passed it few months ago. The new law is expected to usher in new vigor into Nigerian Political system.
The Law will reduce the age qualification for president from 40 to 30; governor from 35 to 30; senator from 35 to 30; House of Representatives membership from 30 to 25 and State House of Assembly membership from 30 to 25.
Also reacting to the development, Senate president, Bukola Saraki via his twitter handle said “our nation needs the energy and innovation of our young people. Hence the next phase of not too young to run is registering to vote, collect PVCs, running for offices or working to get their peers elected into Executive or legislative offices.”
What is there to celebrate in an allegedly 75 year old man (football age?) who does not have a single youth in his cabinet, signing the #NotTooYoungToRun Bill? If he believes in it, then he should have at least one youth in his cabinet. He just wants to reap where he hasn’t sown.

With signing the #NotTooYoungToRun bill into law, Pres. @MBuhari affirms his desire to trusting Nigerian youth to lead Nigeria. As a Presidential Aspirant who falls within the age bracket, I call upon all Nigerians to rally around my candidacy to bring this law to reality in 2019
