NEWS DIGEST – The Nigerian Police Force has reacted to the trending Video on social media where the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris was seen been unable to read his own speech.
This reaction came in a twitter conversation monitored by The NEWS DIGEST this evening.
In the Video the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris kept saying “Transmitting Transmission” amongst other incoherent words as his aide tried to help him with reading his own (IGP) speech.
The video had drawn lots of comments with the Aide to Nigerian President on Diaspora affairs, Abike Dabiri stating through her twitter handle that the Video was doctored.
Through her official tweeter handle @policeng, the Nigerian police said the video was doctored.
This came in a reaction to a twitter user few moments ago who asked if the video circulating is real
Dr Adekola Adewale @olajidenigeria #AskThePolice I saw a video yesterday on social media about the Inspector General of Police not able to read his own speech. Some of us suspect it is a doctored video, can you clarify that please? Thank you.
The Nigerian Police force in replying said “Thank you for the question, yes it was doctored”
The Nigerian inspector General of Police has come under heavy fire after the release of the Video, with many users of social media asking that a version that is not doctored should be released online.
