NDLEA apprehends retired soldier for supply of illicit drugs
NEWS DIGEST – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA has apprehended a 90-year-old retired military man, Usman Adamu for supplying illegal drugs.
He was apprehended in Mailalle, Sabon Birni, Sokoto state.
In a statement by the Director, Media, and Advocacy, NDLEA, Mr Femi Babafemi on Sunday in Abuja, the suspect had 5.1kg cannabis sativa in his custody at the time of his arrest.
Babafemi further disclosed that a 37-year-old Edo indigene of Ovia Local Government Area, Solo Osamede, had been arrested for drug trafficking.
Ovia was arrested for consuming 41 wraps of heroin at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
The spokesman of the agency pointed out that the suspect who is currently in custody was about to board a Turkish Airline flight to Milan, Italy, via Istanbul, Turkey on July 30 when he was arrested.
