Five dead, four injured in Kaduna gas explosion – Police
NEWS DIGEST – Police in Kaduna have confirmed that five persons were killed in the gas explosion which rocked Sabon Tasha in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Saturday.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo, in a statement said the explosion resulted in the death of five persons, two which were beyond recognition.
According to Sabo, four other persons sustained varying degrees of injuries, adding that the impact of the explosion affected three other adjoining shops of different businesses.
The police chief said, “Today at 1545hrs, the Command received information through DPO of Sabon Tasha that a Gas Cylinder has exploded at a Gas Refilling Shop which resulted in the death of Five persons (two of which are beyond recognition)while four others sustained various degree of injuries.
“The impact of the incident affected three other adjoining shops of different businesses.
“Teams of detectives have been dispatched to the scene on a rescue mission and further investigation.
“The Four injured have been rushed to Barau Dikko Hospital Kaduna for treatment. Update will follow please.”
