Just-in: Chidozie Awaziem joins Croatian giants on a season-long loan

NEWS DIGEST – Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem has completed a move to Croatian outfit, HNK Hajduk Split on a season-long loan from Portuguese side, Boavista F.C.

The deal was confirmed on the club’s official website on Monday evening stating that the 25-year-old player joined the HNK Hajduk till the end of the current season with an option to buy at the end of the loan move.

Awaziem began his career with the Nigerian club, El-Kanemi Warriors in 2011 before moving to Europe with Porto three years later will wear the number 25 jersey at his new club which currently sits in the second position in the ongoing season of the Croatian First League.

While speaking on the club’s website about the move, the defender said he joined Split to give his best for the team.

“I know that Split is a beautiful city and that the fans are very passionate and love football. I also like football, so we are very similar in that. I came to Split to give my best and to fulfil our goals,” he said.
