JAMB, WAEC, other exam bodies should use one electronic platform – Dr Yusuf Lawal
NEWS DIGEST – The Director of Test Administration at the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB), Dr Yusuf Lawal, has called for the creation of a common electronic result platform for examination bodies in the country.
Dr. Lawal, who made the call as part of his recommendations in his research project, with the topic “Compliance to Guidelines on Administration to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria,” explained that the creation of a common result platform, will enable examination bodies to access the results of one another for the purpose of result verification and confirmation.
He also noted that the platform will enable candidates seeking admission to upload their results from one examination body to another easily.
He said “Public Examination bodies in Nigeria including JAMB, National Examinations Council (NECO), West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) to create a common electronic results platform by second quarter 2022.
“This is to ensure each body has access to one another’s results for the purpose of verification and confirmation. This is to be done by the second quarter of 2022.
“The proposed public examinations common electronic results platform to be made available to candidates to upload their results from one examination body to another seamlessly.”
Dr Lawal who also noted that the platform will see to the end of uploading of fake results, however recommended that the examination bodies should work out modalities which will ensure fairness in the operation of the platform.
“Public Examinations bodies to work out the modalities and legal framework to suit all parties without any loss of sanctity and revenue to any partner on the platform,” He said.
