NEWS DIGEST – Chairman Salman Shagaya Foundation, Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya has reiterated once again that his Foundation is not a temporary initiative without continuous plans to help the people in various capacities as a Foundation with goodwill and competency.

Speaking after the occasion of the Foundation 13th Empowerment Scheme at Oke- Apomu in Ilorin, Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya thanked Kwarans for their unprecedented support for his Foundation through out the years and solicited understanding and cooperation in the coming years towards achieving further growth and development for the people.

While addressing journalists, Shagaya noted with contentment that 600 kwarans were benefitting from the scheme this term as against the last one, saying it’s a candid development. He said he has no doubt that #10,000 cash money is enough to start a petty business.

According to him, the Foundation’s next empowerment program is a Solar light project, an initiative planned to reach about 4000 homes in Kwara in the next four years. He said 100 homes shall be chosen from different Local Government to ensure even distribution.

Honourable Sheriff Shagaya has however refuted the claims that his activism was a pan in the flash. The philanthropist affirmed that his Foundation has been in existence since 2015 with several notable projects under his belt while still planning to do much more along the line.

Explaining further, Sheriff said there was never a time he saw his philanthropy as a favour to his people but a favour to himself. He said their prayers and support is all he needs.

Responding, one of the beneficiaries thanked Salman Shagaya Foundation for their benevolence and promised to make good use of the opportunities towards ensuring self- sufficiency.
