‘Nigeria will head back to Egypt if Buhari is not re-elected’
NEWS DIGEST–Failure to re-elect President Muhammadu Buhari, Dr. Abubakar Alkali, said would take Nigeria back to the ancient Egyptian era.
He said the All Progressives Congress (APC), as a party, has transformed all sectors of the country’s economy, while resolutely fighting corruption, and gross impunity among public office holders.
Alkali, a former presidential aspirant on the platform of APC, explained that the country, at this critical period needs a man of uncommon vision, sheer integrity and proven integrity like President Buhari.
This, he said, will help consolidate the nation’s march to socio-economic prosperity and human resources development.
“In the pool of presidential candidates, President Buhari, towers above even the flagbearer of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Mr. President, has within a spate of four years, laid a solid foundation for Nigeria’s economic rejuvenation and greatness. He has prosecuted the war against corruption with immeasurable vigour. There is sanity and social tranquility across the Nigerian landscape. His diversification agenda has been reaping abundant fruits. Indeed, it can only get better when teeming electorates on February 16 troop out to polling stations to massively renew his four mandates,” noted Dr. Abubakar.
The staunch APC loyalist described PDPs sixteen years rule as an ugly chapter in the life of the country, saying that no Nigerians of sincere goodwill will even contemplate voting back a party that offered abysmal misrule instead of good governance.
He advised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide necessary logistics and plan meticulously for unforeseen contingencies so as to avoid disenfranchising voters during the elections.
