#EndSARS: Islamic Scholar Sues for Peace
NEWS DIGEST – The Chief Imam of the National Open University of Nigeria Mosque, Mallam Buhari Alhassan, has called on Nigerian youths not to take the laws in their own hands.
This is following a series of protests organised by Nigerian youths calling for an end to police brutality #EndSARS.
Speaking during his sermon at the NOUN Jummat Mosque on Friday, Mallam Buhari said it was time for Nigerian youths to give the Nigerian government time frame so that they can meet up to their demands.
He also advised the President Muhammadu Buhari led Government to listen to the yearnings of the youth for peace to reign.
In his words; “As the country continues to witness thugs invasion in major cities, it is necessary for all nerves to be calm and all parties should embrace peace as the Prophet has always urged his followers to desist from violence and disruption of public properties.
“It is necessary for our youths to take advantage of the dialogue which the Federal Government has initiated to table their grievances for the betterment of our dear nation.
He said with peace Nigeria will be better as other countries who towed the price of social unrest are paying the bitter price.
“We have seen nations of the world who have protested and organised mass actions against their leaders, today they are in a lot of sufferings such as Libya, Egypt, Tunisia and Sudan and we don’t pray for Nigeria to end up like them,” he said.
