Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Kogi State Government has ordered the closure of all public and private schools from Wednesday, February 22, 2023.

The Director, Basic and Secondary Education, Kogi State Ministry of Education, Mr Matthew Salami disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

Salami noted that schools are to resume on Monday, March 13, 2023.

According to the statement, management and teachers of schools are not affected by this directive.

This is coming days after the Nigerian government through the National Universities Commission (NUC) directed universities and inter-university centres to close between 22 February and 14 March ahead of the 2023 general elections.
