2023: Dino Melaye cautions Nigerians against voting another president like Buhari
NEWS DIGEST – The Buhari administration has been treated to sundry unfavourable reviews in past years for how it has dealt with the economy, insecurity and other controversial topics such as the herder-farmer crisis.
Nigerian politician Dino Melaye took the past years in retrospect and warned Nigerians to be shrewd with their voting power in 2023 and do right by themselves to vote for a president completely unlike Mr Buhari.
Melaye, a senator who represented Kogi West between 2015 and 2019, said on Facebook that leaders with poor leadership qualities cannot, again, be allowed to become president after more persons indicated their interest in becoming president in 2023.
Last week, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Asiwaju Tinubu revealed that he had told the president he would run for president in 2023.
Mr Tinubu would say, at the time of declaration, that there was no rule stopping a kingmaker from being king himself.
Since then, other politicians including Ebonyi state governor, Dave Umahi, have registered interest in becoming president.
Dino wrote on Facebook, “Nigerians can not replace Buhari with Buhari Pro max.”
Dino also remarked on Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello’s presidential bid as a vision similar to a pipe dream.
“Yahaya Bello’s dream of becoming President is a continuation of Papa Ajasco’s TV series,” he added.
