Ex-Minister Dasuki Nakande loses 98-year-old mother
NEWS DIGEST – The mother of a former Minister of State Information and Communications, Dasuki Nakande, died on Monday at the age of 98.
Mr Nakande confirmed the death in a statement on Monday.
According to the statement, the late Maryam Nakande died in the early hours of Monday at the Nakande family residence in Jos after a protracted illness.The ex-minister described his mother as caring, disciplined and, above all, someone who “lived her life with the fear of Allah and was a devote Muslim”.
Mrs Nakande, according to the statement, survived with four children: Dasuki, Khadija, Hauwa’u and Zainab, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was buried at the Jos Zaria road burial ground in accordance with the Islamic rites.
