COVID-19 Booster Dose Gives Greater Protection Against The Virus – NPHCDA

NEWS DIGEST – The National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, Executive Director, Dr. Faisal Shuaib has said the COVID-19 booster dose gives greater protection against the virus.

He also urged all Nigerians to take advantage of the Federal Government offering of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Dr Faisal disclosed this statement in a press release issued by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency.

He added that the eligible criteria for taking the booster dose were: for any persons 18 years and above, time interval of six months or more after the person has received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

Following the Federal Government’s approval, the Presidential Steering Committee in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and the NPCHCA said the administration of booster doses for persons that have completed 2 doses of AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer Bio-N-Tech or 1 dose of Johnson and Johnson.

“In the meantime, eligible Nigerians are urged to visit health facility or mass vaccination site for their booster doses as from December 10,2021 across all states of the federation,” Dr. Faisal revealed.
