Communication Minister Pantami partners with Microsoft to leverage digital economy
NEWS DIGEST – The current Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami has made known to the public his move to leverage the digital economy of the country as he partnered with Microsoft, an American multinational technology corporation which produces computer software and consumer electronics globally.
According to a statement signed by the Ministry of Information and posted on the verified handle of the Minister on 22nd June, there is a virtual meeting between Pantami and Microsoft business experts Wael El Kabban (the Managing Director of Africa Transformation Office); the Country Manager identified as Ola Williams and Nonye Ujam, the Government Affairs Lead for the company in the nation.
News Digest Nigeria gathered that the panel discussion is centred around collaboration to support the Nigerian digital economy and to serve as a follow-up on the agreements reached with Mr Brad Smith, the Microsoft Lead when he visited the country.
Recall that President Buhari together with the Minister had earlier received Mr Brad Smith, as of 1st April 2022, in Abuja at the launching of the African Development Centre (ADC).
Born on the 20th of October 1972, Isa Ali Pantami is an Islamic scholar who now serves as Minister of Communications and Digital Economy in Nigeria. He was the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) of Nigeria from 26 September 2016 to 20 August 2019.
