Ex-Chelsea star, Joe Cole supports Benzema to win the 2022 Ballon d’Or
NEWS DIGEST – Former Chelsea player, Joe Cole, has supported Real Madrid’s striker, Karim Benzema to win the 2022 Ballon d’Or.
He said Benzema is an incredible footballer who is getting better despite his age.
Cole disclosed this after Real Madrid crushed Chelsea 3-1 in Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie.
Benzema, aged 34, scored a hat-trick at Stamford Bridge to give Real Madrid victory over The Blues
Last year, Paris Saint-Germain’s player, Lionel Messi won the 2021 Ballon d’Or ahead of Benzema, Robert Lewandowski, Jorginho, and N’Golo Kante.
Cole speculates Benzema will win the Ballon d’Or this year as he speaks about Benzema’s performance on BT Sport.
“He is getting better with age. As things stand right now in the race for the Ballon d’Or, he has won it by a few furlongs.
“It is unbelievable that in this stage of his career, he has gone: ‘I am in charge of the orchestra now, everything goes through me’. He is an outstanding footballer,” he said.
