Burna Boy gets second Grammy nomination
NEWS DIGEST – Nigerian artiste, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy on Tuesday, November 24 got his second Grammy nomination in the Best Global Music category from his latest album, ‘Twice As Tall’.
Recall that Burna Boy got his first nomination for his album, African Giant, but earlier in 2020, he lost the award to Anquelique Kidjo when the category was previously called Best World Music Album.
For the record, Burna Boy is not the first to be nominated in that category. Over the years, many Nigerians have been nominated in various categories but only Sikiru Adepoju has ever gone home with the prestigious music award.
If Burna Boy wins the 2021 Grammy awards, he would become the second Nigerian to win the prestigious award.
South African comedian and host of American TV show ‘The Daily Host’ Trevor Noah has been announced as the host of the 63rd Grammy Awards.
The main ceremony of the world’s prestigious music award is scheduled for January 31, 2021.
