BUK appoints 3 Deputy Vice-Chancellors
NEWS DIGEST – The Bayero University, Kano, BUK, at its the 384th Regular Senate Meeting chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Abbas, has confirmed the nomination of three senior lecturers to the rank of Deputy Vice Chancellors, DVCs.
This is the first time the university appointed three DVCs, against the conventional DVC Academics and DVC Administration.
The university senate created the new office office of the DVC Research and Development; abolished the office of the DVC Administration and replaced it with DVC Management Services.
The DVC Academic is not affected by the changes.
Professor Abdullahi Kano of Department of Political Science, former Director, Directorate of Research, Innovation and Partnership was confirmed as DVC, Research and Development.
The university also confirmed Professor Mahmud Sani, former Dean, Faculty of Clinical Science as DVC, Management Services.
Also appointed is Professor Muhammad Gumel, Provost College of Natural and Pharmaceutical Sciences as DVC Academics.
Their appointment is for two years renewable.
