Beje old students to launch multiple projects on 40th anniversary

NEWS DIGEST – As it is their custom, the old students’ association of Beje High School will assemble again this year, in the school’s 40th anniversary, to give back to their school.

To celebrate this year’s anniversary, a conference tagged “Towards A Glorious Tomorrow” is planned for January 26 to January 31, 2021.

In this conference, an annual lecture themed “Contribution towards the advancement of our alma-mater; a just cause” will be delivered, along with a keynote speech from old student, Prof. Amos Onasanya.

The association will also commission two projects to celebrate Beje High School’s 40 years of existence at its Ijebu-Igbo home: a 11-unit modern toilet facility and a borehole water supply.

Mr Zaid Lai Olanrewaju, an old student of Beje High, told the News Digest that the anniversary presents the public with an opportunity to reflect on the state of secondary education in Nigeria.

“This is an avenue for the old students to network and meet after a long period of absence from the school in a Covid-19 safety compliance environment.”

The conference is expected to begin with the launching of the N35 million Multipurpose School Hall, then laying of the School Library’s foundation by the set of 1986, commissioning of the newly constructed modern toilets and borehole water projects and award presentation to old students and members of the community.

Expected to be in attendance is National president of the old student, Mr Adekoya Suffy and the Chairman of the anniversary, Engr. Wunmi Oloyede, who will both be hosting guests within the country and beyond.

Others include: His Royal Highness, Alayeluwa Oba Adeleke Adekoya (Iluyomade 1), Chairman of the day, Hon. Adesegun Adekoya and the Principal Launcher, Chief Dolapo Oluwanisola.
