Bayelsa Youth Leadership Awards Will Honour Outstanding individuals, Institutions – Organizer

NEWS DIGEST – The organizer, Bayelsa Youth Leadership Awards (BYLA), Comrade Atti Moses, Wednesday, said the programme will honour outstanding individuals and institutions in Bayelsa State.

The 5th edition of the programme which is set to hold on Thursday, August 12, will take place at the event hall of Martho Crystal Hotel in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, in commemoration of the 2021 International Youth Day which is themed “Transforming food system: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health”.

Moses, speaking to newsmen during an interview, explained that the Bayelsa Youth Leadership Awards which has been ongoing since 2017, is a platform to appreciate and reward youths, non-governmental organizations and corporate institutions that has contributed to the growth and development of the state.

Moses, who is the Special Assistant to the Bayelsa State governor on student affairs, also added that individuals who have performed well in various spheres of life such as entrepreneurship, sports, leadership, agriculture, politics et al, will be awarded for their outstanding performance.

“Bayelsa Youth Leadership Awards is aimed at encouraging and rewarding the excellent performance of Youths in all spheres of life from politics, leadership, entertainment, sports, agriculture, entrepreneurship and so on. Strange but true is the fact that diligent and trustworthy youths are hard to find as those who have impacted in one way or the other or have served well in public offices are not being recognised for their good deeds.

“Therefore it’s in this light that the Bayelsa Youth Leadership Awards is providing the platform to recognise, appreciate and reward outstanding youths in Bayelsa State as well as institutions and individuals that have played a vital role in Youth Development,” Moses Said.
