The Athletics Federation of Nigeria has announced its track and field roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics, featuring 35 athletes ready to compete across various disciplines.

This formidable team aims to make a significant impact on the global stage.

In the men’s sprints, Favour Ashe, Godson Brume, and Kayinsola Ajayi will take on the 100 meters, while Udodi Onwuzurike will compete in the 200 meters.

The 400 meters will see Chidi Okezie and Samuel Ogazi vying for victory, with Edose Ibadin representing Nigeria in the 800 meters.

Ezekiel Nathaniel is set to showcase his skills in the 400-meter hurdles.

For the field events, Prosper Chinecherem will compete in the javelin, and Chukwuebuka Enekwechi will aim for success in the shot put.

On the women’s side, sprinters Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma, and Tima Godbless will represent Nigeria in the 100 and 200 meters.

Ella Onojuvwevwo and Esther Elo Joseph will compete in the 400 meters.

Tobi Amusan will bring her expertise to the 100-meter hurdles, while Ese Brume, Ruth Usoro, and Prestina Ochonogor will leap into action in the long jump.

High jump specialist Temitope Adesina and hammer thrower Sade Olatoye add depth to the women’s field event lineup.

Nigeria’s relay teams, both men’s and women’s, are expected to deliver thrilling performances, showcasing their speed and teamwork on the track.

Nigeria has a rich history of consistent participation in the Olympics since its debut in Helsinki in 1952.
