JUST IN: AfDB Vice President resigns amidst corruption allegations
NEWS DIGEST – A vice president at the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr Jennifer Blanke, has tendered her resignation from the development finance institution.
Blanke’s resignation is coming amidst the allegations of corruption and nepotism recently levelled against the president of the AfDB, Akinwumi Adesina.
Blanke is the vice president for Agriculture, Human and Social Development at the institution.
Her resignation would become effective from July 4, 2020, the AfDB said in a statement on Wednesday.
